A large water oak tree located along North Avenue by the Tech Tower lawn is scheduled for removal this weekend due to top decay.

On Saturday, February 15th, Landscape Services will oversee the removal of a large water oak tree situated along North Avenue near the entrance to the E45 parking lot.  The tree has top decay and it will be removed for the safety of pedestrians, power lines and traffic on North Avenue.

Managing our campus trees and the urban forest that they create is a responsibility that is taken very seriously by the Georgia Tech Landscape Services team.  The tree trunk will be salvaged and stored for future use. To maintain a consistent tree inventory and canopy coverage, the water oak will be replaced by future plantings in other areas of campus.

Should you have any questions, please contact Hyacinth Ide, Associate Director Landscape Services.
